Maria Gregory is a natural storyteller and the heart behind The Lion You Don't See. As founder of the I RiseUp Group of Companies — including I Riseup Academy, I Riseup Foundation, and CLICK (Computer Learning for Inner City Kids) — she's on a mission to help people find their inner strength and the possibilities life holds.
Her path has been one of service. With a background in counseling and education, she served as a Presidential Member of the American Christian Counselors Association from 2009 to 2020, and spent over a decade as a volunteer Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America from 2004 to 2016, mentoring young people toward their full potential.
From 2012 to 2014, and again in 2018, she served as a judge for the Invention Convention League, championing the next generation of inventors. Wife, stepmom, big sister, aunt, godmother, friend — she finds her joy in nurturing the people she's called to serve.
This book is especially close to her heart. Inspired by a wish to help readers uncover the quiet strength inside them, she believes that through story, people can see past their struggles to the courage they didn't know they had.
